Meet the Team

Founded in 1997 as FRONTIER 21 Education Solutions by Dr. Alex Schuh, School Frontiers, LLC rebranded in 2019 to emphasize how schools are positioned at the frontier of innovation, learning, and the future. In recent years, School Frontiers has grown to include the brightest minds in research, evaluation, and data analysis, forming a tight-knit team focused on education solutions. We are excited to introduce you to our team and our work at School Frontiers.

A Small Team

Although School Frontiers has been serving charter schools, students, and educators for just over 25 years, our company has maintained a small, highly-skilled and collaborative team.

“I have my hand in almost every project which I enjoy tremendously. I like being a member of a team that is diverse and smart. These experiences give me the opportunity to look at a problem in a different way to find better solutions… We can accomplish great things because we act as a team with clearly defined qualities that we all bring to School Frontiers daily.” –Mario Gutierrez, Chief Growth Officer

School Frontiers is defined by “our flexible team culture. We learn from each other’s strengths and draw on multiple minds when tackling a new problem or forging better paths forward.” –Sarah Arnold, Senior Research Associate

Impactful Projects

School Frontiers undertakes a variety of projects, from multi-year research and evaluation, grant writing, and curriculum development, to new school applications, and federal programs. Our company works tirelessly to ensure we provide exceptional services for our clients.

“The projects I am most proud to have been a part of are those that support charter schools in Pennsylvania with the renewal of their charters. It is important to me to make sure charter schools are having their academic successes accurately represented and that those charter schools remain in operation for another term.” Kelly Flynn, Data Analyst

I enjoy the opportunity to work closely with schools to support them as they navigate federal programs, grant management, and academic programming. It is extremely rewarding to watch school-wide programs develop through early planning phases to implementation and seeing the lasting impacts that these programs have on the students and staff.” –Zoë Groff, Programs & Policy Specialist

Solutions Focused

At School Frontiers, we strive to address problems and find evidence-based and long-lasting solutions. Our team relies on our diverse skills, knowledge, and perspectives to forge a path towards success on behalf of our clients and students.

“School Frontiers allows me to use my creativity and research skills to help schools find solutions that serve administrators, teachers, parents, and most importantly, students. I love that I can play a part in brainstorming those solutions and accessing funding opportunities to make those proposed solutions a reality.” –Lauryn Aviles, Research & Evaluation Coordinator

“School Frontiers focuses on finding ways to help make education more equitable, accessible, and effective, and I am thrilled to be a part of making positive change through research-based solutions in a field so pivotal to our society.” –Anjini Patel, Research Assistant

It may not seem like it all the time, but in reality, [our work] is all about the students that are not getting the education they deserve for many different reasons…I want to make sure even a few students have a better education experience because of what we do. Same goes for teachers and administrators.” –Mario Gutierrez, Chief Growth Officer
